Now in our 20th fantastic year, LCN Performing Arts offers extremely popular dance, drama and singing classes for 3-15 year olds in the heart of Blackheath, South East London.
Since 2006, our flagship Saturday morning classes have helped hundreds of children develop in confidence, make brilliant new friends, excel in the performing arts and enjoy a much-needed break from the pressured and results-driven school environment.
Our emphasis is always on fun and variety. Each week, LCNers enjoy an eclectic mix of high-energy drama games, street dance, musical theatre routines, singing, improv fun and acting workshops.
In addition, our much-loved activity weeks take place during the Easter and Summer school holidays each year. We add sports and art to the performing arts mix here – to ensure there really is something for everyone.
Our experienced, loyal and friendly tutors are passionate to keep lessons, song choices, choreography and drama ideas as up-to-date and fresh as possible. It’s a small, close-knit team who care about each and every child we teach – and we can’t wait to meet yours!
Laura boosts my daughter’s confidence and nurtures her ability like no other teacher. The LCN team love what they do, care deeply about the children and their sense of fun and enthusiasm is infectious.
I really wanted my daughter to not be the shy, shrinking violet I was. Laura aims high but without the pressure that some classes have. The children gain confidence whilst having loads of fun. When Stephanie goes to a party now, she’s in there like a shot joining in. Finding LCN is one of the best things we ever did.
I was nervous about the 5-year old son doing Summer School as he’d never done anything like it before. I couldn’t believe it when I saw him performing in the showcase at the end of the week. That night, I asked if he’d enjoy his week. His response was: ‘It was awesome. And I was awesome!’
Having tried other dance and drama classes in the area, we’ve finally found the one perfect for my daughter. In her words: ‘Laura’s class is the best!’
Floss has been going to LCN for seven years and she still loves going every single week. It is the ONE club she has consistently always been excited about and we have watched her blossom from a shy 4-year-old to a confident almost-11 who is now happy to perform and sing, solo, in public. It’s everything she wants – singing, dance, drama – condensed into one fun-filled hour, with games too.
Laura takes an interest in each child’s personal growth as well as making sure that the classes are engaging and fun. She also delivers the goods 🙂 LCN’s end of term shows are always impressive and often bring tears to the eyes – of laughter as well as pride!

A huge thank you for your fantastic summer school! Thomas had an absolute blast and is already saying he needs to come back at Easte. You guys clearly go all out to create such a loving, caring and enriching environment for all the kids. They all just seem so happy to be there and take part. With Thomas, it is clear he gets an absolutely huge amount out of it as well as having a fab time. It is also so lovely for us as parents to see him confidently taking part in activities like dance and drama that we can see he loves.
The boys both had such a great time and were going to bed each night singing the songs they’d been learning. I loved seeing the little clips on Facebook – I saw another side to Charlie doing his dance routines! They will definitely be at LCN for Easter if there’s space! Huge thank you to you and all the purple t-shirts for such an engaging and well run club.
I just wanted to take an opportunity to thank you and the team at LCN. Sylvan has had a fantastic time. The staff and volunteers have given so much energy (and particularly in the heat) and I know how much work and thought you and the team must have put in to create such a full and engaging week. As a parent to a young child relatively new to trying out the different holiday clubs on offer, it has been reassuring and just lovely knowing that our little boy has been looked after so well all week. From the warm welcomes in the morning, and the team remembering his name on day 1, the overall feeling has been that he’s in a safe and nurturing space full of people passionate about what they are teaching.
